THE VALUE OF TIME

A portrait of Hermann Huber

Play Video

90 years of a full, sometimes hard, often adventurous, always fulfilling life.

In this cinematic portrait, author and filmmaker Tom Dauer pays tribute to a man who dedicated his life to the mountains and never forgot that mountain life is part of a whole. It is only complete when family, friendships, career, openness to the world, curiosity and love of humanity find their place in it. Born on September 20, 1930, Hermann Huber grew up in Munich and the Bavarian Alps and began working at Salewa Lederwarenfabrik GmbH at the age of 15. He continuously expanded the mountain sports division until 1972, when he became Managing Director and internationally known as “Mr. Salewa”. In addition to his professional successes, Hermann has achieved climbing successes all over the world. But the special thing is that even at an advanced age, Hermann Huber has retained his enthusiasm, curiosity and drive – and has thus not only become an alpine legend, but also a role model.
